Punta Leona is a hidden gem. Punta Leona es la perla de Costa Rica. Esta comunidad cerrada puede ofrecerle alto nivel de seguridad, alojamiento confortable y acceso a magníficas playas de arena blanca y aguas cristalinas, rodeadas de una exuberante vegetación tropical. El pueblo está bien ubicado en la costa del Pacífico de Costa Rica, en relativa proximidad de la ciudad turística de Jaco. Se tarda aproximadamente una hora y media en llegar al aeropuerto Juan Santamaría y a la ciudad capital San José. Basada en los valores familiares, Punta Leona tiene fama de ser una comunidad de playa tranquila y pacífica con una gran variedad de vida silvestre tropical, lo que la convierte en un lugar ideal para vivir y descansar.
BEACHES AND CLIMATE
Punta Leona is blessed with spectacular white sand beaches. One of them is a 603 meters long Playa Blanca. This beach is unique because of the underwater barrier reef dividing it into two distinctive parts: one of them has great waves for surfing and the other has calm waters on most days and is suitable for swimming. This part of the beach is considered safe for children because the barrier reef protects it from huge waves and special nets are placed into the water to prevent outside sea creatures from getting into this closed ecosystem. Snorkeling is a popular activity here as the barrier reef has a lot of beautiful inhabitants including two sea turtles. Playa Blanca and another white sand beach nearby across the rocks called Playa Mantas both have lifeguard posts and facilities belonging to the beach club of Punta Leona – showers, changing rooms, swimming pool and restaurants. Tropical trees that create a natural shade, gentle breeze and overall mild quality of the pleasant all year round weather transform the stay on the beaches into an especially delightful experience. The climate in Punta Leona is very enjoyable because of its location in the transitional forest that combines the benefits from tropical rainforests of the Southwest region and dry forests of the Northwest region of Costa Rica.

Климат в Пунта-Леона очень приятен благодаря ее расположению в переходном лесу, который сочетает в себе преимущества тропических дождевых лесов юго-западного региона и засушливых лесов северо-западного региона Коста-Рики.
Punta León tiene increíbles playas de arena blanca. Una de ellas es Playa Blanca con longitud de 603 metros. Esta playa es única por su barrera submarina de arrecifes, que la divide en dos partes: una parte tiene fuertes olas para surfear, y la otra tiene el mar tranquilo la mayor parte del tiempo, lo que es ideal para nadar. Snorkling es muy popular en esta playa, ya que se puede observar alrededor de la barrera de coral a muchos habitantes interesantes, incluidos dos tipos de tortugas marinas. Las playas de arena blanca Blanca y Mantas, ubicadas al otro lado de los acantilados costeros, tienen puestos de socorristas y servicios relacionados con el Club de playa de Punta Leona: duchas, vestidores, piscina y restaurantes. Arboles tropicales que ofrecen sombra natural, brisa costera y un clima confortable durante todo el año invitan a quedarse en estas playas para unas vacaciones encantadoras. Debido a su ubicación en el bosque de transición, que combina los beneficios de las selvas tropicales en la región suroeste y los bosques áridos de la región noroeste de Costa Rica, el clima en Punta Leona es muy agradable.
FLORA AND FAUNA
Whether you prefer to enjoy the stunning views from the comfort of your room`s balcony or to travel deeper into the realm of nature by joining a guided tour headed to one of the walking trails to explore the tropical forest and engage in birds watching activities, Punta Leona is the perfect spot to enjoy being outdoors to the fullest. Rich in the tropical greenery, this picturesque territory serves as a habitat to many species: white-faced capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, white-nosed coati, raccoons, iguanas, sloths, a wide variety of butterflies and birds, such as toucans, pelicans, hawks, hummingbirds and many others. There is also a special conservation program implemented by Punta Leona’s management that helped to increase the local population of scarlet macaws from around 100 to 800 over several years.

Independientemente de si prefiere disfrutar de las impresionantes vistas desde el balcón de su habitación o hacer una excursión a las profundidades de la selva tropical, Punta León es un lugar ideal para disfrutar de unas vacaciones al aire. Este pintoresco territorio, rico en vegetación tropical, sirve de hábitat a muchos representantes del mundo animal: monos capuchinos, narices, mapaches, iguanas, perezosos, una amplia variedad de mariposas y de pájaros, tales como tucanes, pelícanos, halcones, colibríes y muchos otros. Además, gracias a un programa especial de conservación de vida silvestre, realizado por la gerencia del Hotel Punta Leona (hotel tiene el mismo nombre), en los últimos años ha sido posible aumentar la población de loros guacamayos rojos de 100 a 800 individuos.
COMMUNITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Homeowners in Punta Leona enjoy a small resort town atmosphere that is prevalent in the community with distinctive family-oriented values and laid-back lifestyle.
At the heart of the community sits Hotel Punta Leona with its restaurants and bars, butterfly garden and insects observatory, convenience store, beach club, swimming pools and sports facilities for indoor soccer field, tennis, beach volleyball and mini golf.
Outside of Punta Leona nearest places of interest would be Carara National Park and Manuel Antonio National Park. In addition, resort town Jaco is in proximity, with many restaurants and shops and one of the best surfing beaches in Costa Rica. Los Sueños Marina is another interesting place with luxury yachts and restaurants just a half an hour drive away from Punta Leona.

Los propietarios de viviendas en Punta León viven una vida moderada de una ciudad turística tranquila, caracterizada por confortables viviendas de playa y comodidad familiar.
En el centro se encuentra el hotel del mismo nombre Punta Leona con restaurantes y bares, una heladería con un mini mercado, un jardín de mariposas y un observatorio de insectos, un Club de playa y piscinas, así como instalaciones deportivas de fútbol sala, canchas de tenis, voleibol de playa y minigolf.
Fuera de Punta Leona, vale la pena visitar los Parques Nacionales de Carrara y Manuel Antonio. Además, bastante cerca se encuentra la ciudad turística de Jaco, con muchos restaurantes, tiendas y una de las mejores playas de surf en Costa Rica. Ubicado a solo media hora de Punta Leona los Sueños Marina es otro destino atractivo con una gran cantidad de yates y restaurantes de lujo.
